Who we are. We help home sellers in Victoria choose and manage a selling agent.

What we collect. Your name, phone number, email address, the address of the property you are thinking of selling, and what you tell us about your sale. We collect it from you directly, through our website form, by phone or by email.

Why we collect it. To contact you, to understand your sale, to shortlist agents for you, and to support you through the sale.

Who we share it with. With your agreement, we give your name, contact details and property address to the agents we shortlist for you, and only after each agent has accepted our terms. We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to anyone else for marketing. Companies that run our email and website may store it on our behalf. Some of these providers may store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose providers that protect information to a standard similar to Australian privacy law.

How we look after it. We keep your information in password-protected systems and limit access to the people who need it. We keep it for seven years after our work for you ends, so we have a record if there is ever a question about your sale, then we delete it securely. If we never work together, we delete your details within two years of your last contact with us, unless you ask us to keep in touch.

Your choices. You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.

Questions or complaints. Contact us on 0448 387 455 or at matt@localadvocate.com.au, or write to 1/315 Main Street, Mornington VIC 3931. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
